I’ll include a few map mods in this article and explain each one of them - what they’re good for and what the map presents. They tell you specifically which zone you’re heading for, where to go, and many other things, depending on the type of the map.
Greenbeach has a great spot east of Ark, over looking a river.Map mods are essential for Kenshi. Stobes Gable is eerie and unusual if again looking for a challenge (place raining ash) has leviathans and black gorillos. Near Mourn in the Bonefields sounds very deadly, so could be fun! If the HN have been knocked down a peg or two, maybe Orkrans Pride? Though that might get boring. The great desert near the ocean is pretty, but slave raids and tax an issue, as is water. Gut is beautiful, but has packs of 15 or more beak things, so just be weary travelling in and out, can quickly make mince meat if not near water to escape. The dangers make great natural defences too, bandits and cannibals get beaten by fogmen and shinobi ninja guards. It gets real chaotic (million fogmen and at times a lot of cannibal raids) but get advanced harpoons with several trained user's and they're lethal.too lethal (friendly fire).

Gut is my personal favorite place for base, looks amazing and has good water, fertility, iron, copper and stone, pretty flat, only major issue for early game is the 13 beak thing nests and occasional elite raid, tho if you find a way to kill them its free special and i think even masterwork samurai gear, there's only i think 5-8 of the elite samurai so it is manageable if you get a gate and mounted weapon killbox going, i think you can cheese them with water to make them swim, same with beak things but im pretty sure they just avoid water like most things, early on you're probably better off camping out relatively close to squin or hub, everywhere else is almost guaranteed death for a party of only one decent to good fighter when setting base, tho with a small party like yours for now just base in hub by buying one of the buildings and make some bank making swords or stealing from squin or sumn, kidnap a dude and train up some comrades on the rooftop to good fighters (training sword mod is good for this, feels like easy mode but mostly just saves time waiting for your sandbag to heal) and research what you can until you get some decent tech, once you have a few guys with probably like 40 avg combat related stats that is when you can afford to colonize and expand, exploration is the privilege of the strong, although if you already kicked the okranites out the green area near blister hill is apparently the best for cropsįog Islands is rich in copper, iron, stone, water, and 75-80% fertility for all but cactus.
